Impact of pandemic on mental and emotional health in children and strategy for reopening schools –

A Joint Initiative By —
The Indian Psychiatric Society, National Institute Of Mental Health And Neurosciences and Indian Association For Child And Adolescent Mental Health

Children constitute roughly 28% of the world’s population and have been dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in their own way. Long term consequences of the pandemic and lockdown on emotional well-being and mental health of children are now being acknowledged in research. Hence, appropriate measures need be taken to safeguard the interests of these vulnerable groups.
A joint initiative by the Indian Psychiatric Society, NIMHANS and the IACAM have brought together an expert consensus group which suggests recommendations on the way forward.
