Organization

The Indian Psychiatric Society currently hosts 5 zones and 24 branches. The following is a summary of the organization of IPS. Kindly visit respective sites for further details.

The Central Zone

IPS, Central Zonal Branch comprises four states: Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. IPS, Central zone is officially registered with the name Central Psychiatric Society (CPS).

Central Psychiatric Society was established back in the year 1974 by Founding President, Dr. B.B. Sethi and Founding General Secretary, Dr. A.K. Agarwal.

Indian Journal of Behavioral Sciences (IJBS) is the official journal of the Indian Psychiatric Society Central Zonal Branch.

The East Zone

IPS, Eastern Zonal Branch comprises nine states: West Bengal, Tripura, Sikkim, Odisha, Meghalaya, Manipur, Jharkhand, Bihar and Assam.

CEZIPS is the Annual Conference of the Eastern Zonal Branch, Indian Psychiatric Society.

Eastern Journal of Psychiatry is the official journal of the Indian Psychiatric society Eastern Zonal Branch. It was started in the year 1998.

The North Zone

IPS, Northern Zonal Branch comprises Punjab and Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.  

Journal of Mental Health and Human Behaviour is the official journal of Indian Psychiatric Society-North Zone.

The South Zone

IPS South Zonal Branch comprises:  Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Puducherry.

Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine is the official journal of the Indian Psychiatric Society South Zonal Branch.

The West Zone

IPS, Western Zone comprises: Maharastra, Gujarat and Goa.

Western zonal branch of Indian Psychiatric Society has been in existence for over five decades.

Branches
